PRESS RELEASE

The attention of Charles Airhiavbere Campaign Organization, CACO, has been drawn to a misleading caption “Witness slumps at Edo Governorship Tribunal” published in the front page of the Nigerian Tribunal of Friday, 23 November 2012. The impression created by that caption is that the man who slumped during the tribunal hearing yesterday was a witness of General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd) as his witnesses were the ones testifying at the time of the incidence.

The Charles Airhiavbere Campaign Organization wishes to put it on record that the man, Mr. Israel Odaro, aka Minister, a native doctor who we are told later died in the hospital, was not a card carrying member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP nor was he a witness of General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd). Rather, he was a card carrying member of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, from Uromehe in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, the same village as the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Pius Odubu. CACO also has it on record that the man, Minister, who obviously was in the tribunal on some dubious mission, was the son of a past Odionwere of Uromehe.

CACO hereby appeals to journalists to always cross-check their facts before embarking on sensational reporting. We wish to assure journalists that the doors of the Campaign Organization are always open and available at all times for journalists to cross check their facts. While thanking journalists for their past cooperation with CACO, we further assure them of our willingness to continue to partner with them towards ensuring the dignity and sanctity of the office Governor of Edo State.

Today in Benin City the Election Tribunal sat and took testimony from General Charles Airhiavbere witness. However, yesterdays' 22/11/12 court seating took a different dimension. It was reported that a NATIVE Doctor working for one of the litigant came to the court to try  use his diabolical powers to alter the legal proceedings but meant his waterloo. They said that as he started chanting and doing incantation he was struck my a mysterious object and fell to the ground. Some people are saying that he died instantly while others are saying he was an epileptic patient that what they saw was a epileptic seizure. Although the hearing was disrupted and the Jugde adjune for one hour the witness were later heard when the siting resumed.
