As the election tribunal sitting in Benin City, Nigerians most be able to read the signs or the hand writing on the war when issues like the case before the tribunal is mentioned. When yesterday I saw the governor, his Deputy and all of ACN apparatchik in  the court, I new the case was going to favour the Comrade. GC like Osunbor before him did not attend the court sitting when the final results came in. The question now is where some people privil to the Judges decision? Did they already know that the judgement was not going to favour them? If they did something is sightly wrong with our Judicial system.

In Nigeria when you tell people that they need life insurance they will say are you praying for me to die? God for bid, I bind it, I reject it. That is the attitude that we have extended to life and can not prepare for any emergency. We do not have the commonest of emergency preparations. As important and common as fire fighting most state do not have fire truck. Even the one Edo State has that is always packed at ring road na push and start. But I do believe we can do better. A new fire truck can not cost much. Please let our governors invest in emergency preparedness and Constitute a boys and girls brigade as emergency army.

Edo State is flooded and the governor of the state went to visit the disaster areas.  Someone from his party posted the picture of the visit and praised him to high heavens. Here is my response to the post; …. For some months now the whether forecasters warned of impeding flood along the Niger river bank. My question is what did the state government do? As the flooding was predicted to be very serious did the state governor deem it fit to even visit these areas?  Not to talk of setting up structures to prevent what we are now experiencing. Every area in Edo State is important therefore the Governor should endeavour to be proactive. All these publicity stun non do am at all. It is medicine after death.

This is my response to a remark by Ayowie on EPF forum. @ Ayowie Osa Ayobahan our state Governor, Comrade Adams is a well travelled man and I am sure he has been to the US severally. There has to be a minimum requirement in emergency response. The fire trucks are not there to fight fire. What stop the Comrade from buying a least two fire trucks for a local government area and then training the required manpower? Why can't the Comrade Governor set up emergency brigade boys and girls who can be called up upon in time of emergencies like the flood situation right now? Does the state have a mobile Clinic on a boat? When there is an emergency a government respond not by sending people there to go and look or investigate. A government that is PREPARED for a situation will mobilize it emergency procedures and move to site. It is because they dont have that is while they are running from pillar to post. Yesterday on ITV news I saw two children sleeping on a foam in a flooded room.

As floods over take some parts of Edo State, I pray that God strengthen my brothers and sisters who have been displaced and now refugees in both Edo and Kogi State. But watching the State government response to these disaster is saddening. It calls to question the emergency preparedness of the State Government. From what I can gather thus far there may not be any plan at all. It looks like the case of everyone answers his or her own papa name.

Flood has overtaken many villages and towns of Edo State. The areas mostly affected are those bordering the banks of the River Niger and Kogi States. The flood has displaced close to 500,000 people. The surprise however is that the state government was not prepared for the emergency. Considering the alarms that was raised worldwide about flooding. Watching the flood victims on television begging for food is saddening. I want to use this opportunity to appeal to the Federal and State government to as a matter of urgency respond to this emergency situation. Our people deserves more.

The fuel crisis is Benin City has taken a torn for the worse. Inhabitants now spend as much as 24 hours at the fuel stations to get a minimum of 10 litres. The question many people are asking now is that what is the Federal ans State government doing to reverse this trend. But from our investigation one will have to conclude that nothing is been done. The story making the round has it that the may refinery is being serviced. But how can a refinery of a country with over 160 million people embark on servicing without making provision on how to sustain the population? All the people want now is fuel for the vehicles and farm equipment.

The evil of fuel shortage is back to Benin City again. I do not know what is responsible for this current fuel shortage, but its effects are evident everywhere. Car owners, bus drivers, motorcycle transport operators popularly called okada riders and small scale business owner are negatively affected. Some now spend as much as three days at the various filling stations in order to buy fuel. I have been reliable informed too that they petrol station owners might but rationing what they have and that they are seriously involve in underhand deals like supplying feul to the black market where the fuel sells for 500% of the approved price. My advice is that people should plan their trips and avoid unnecessary movements. People should also not store fuel at home. I just hope the federal government will do some thing to savage the situation.
