The People of Edo South, our MUMU is DO.

The People of Edo South, our MUMU is DO.

This is a clearing call on the people of Edo South to shine their eyes and to stand up and be counted. As the tenure of Comrade Adams Oshomhole as governor of Edo State winds down in 2016, the need for the election of the next governor and his successor should not be done with kid gloves. The Parties, the APC and PDP have agreed to zone the governorship slot to the people of Edo South and the choice should be made diligently because our MUMU is DO.
In all soccer clubs all over the World they have their first eleven and second elevens. The first elevens team are made up of their best while the second eleven team is their second best. When they go to compete in tournaments they put forward their first elevens.
This is what we have seen in Edo State politics. When the governorship was zoned to Edo Central, the people of the Senatorial District brought out their best of their First eleven. First was Prof Ambrose Alli and the other was Prof. Oseriemien Osunbor.  They understand the enormity of that position and so they brought out their best to the centre.  When the position was zoned to Edo North they brought out their best, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
In fact, I was opportune to be present in their very first meeting at Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s house in Iyamho on the Christmas eve of December 2005. All the politicians from Edo North and from across the political divide was present. They agreed to rally round Comrade Adams and their call to battle was Our MUMU done DO.
When it was first the turn of Edo South instead of our people sending their first eleven like the other Senatorial district, we let our emotions and sentiments over ride our reasoning. We allow our love for the Esama of Benin over ride our need to survive in a very hostile environment that looks deceitfully friendly. We brought fort Lucky Igbinedion who you will all agreed performed below par.
Now prudence has given to us another apple opportunity to bring out again another governor. This is a once in a life time opportunity for the people of Edo South and it should not be toyed with. We must bring fort our BEST ELEVEN. This time around there would be no room for sentiments.
The choice before us today is too important for the survival of the Edo South people for it to be left to anyone, not even the Comrade Governor.  The Leaders of Edo South starting from the Palace, our Reverend Oba and his Chiefs, the Enegie, the Odionwere and the Leaders of the two Political Parties will examine all the contenders, look at their qualifications, their antecedents, their love for the people, their services to humanity in their various capacities of responsibilities.  They will then make a pronouncement to the people of Edo south about their choice and the way for our people to go. Anything short of this will be a monument fraud on the people of Edo South.
Edo yu man
