ODUUBU: SIXTEEN (16) YEARS NA ONLY YOU?
Barrister Dr. Pius Egberamwen Odubu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State is by this year 2016 serving his sixteenth (16th) year as a benefactor of the current democratic enterprise. First he was at the House of Representative where he spent 8 years, now he is the deputy governor and this is his eight year. That makes 16 years. Today he is angling for the governorship, which is another 8 years and people are asking weather Na only you dey Edo State?

Dr. Pius Egberamwen Odubu is a Lawyer. He has become a lawyer without a verifiable law Chambers and law books, a basic requirement for a lawyer to succeed. Some have said that he has never argued a case before any Judge and that he has never won a case in the court of law in his entire legal career. What a waste of intelligence.

I am of the opinion that Dr. Pius Egberamwen Odubu is manifesting the Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe’s syndrome. A syndrome of sit tight that is based on greed, intellectual laziness, self centredness ( Na only me) and opportunistic.

What has become very clear to all now is that Odubu is only interested in the easy access to our common wealth in governance. Which to him has become the easiest way up the Lada of success. He has become an ‘Arieze’, a parasite that is feeding fat on our commonwealth. It obviousIly looks like he might find it very difficult to succeed in his chosen career and outsider the government patronage.

One of the things responsible for many former office holders becoming a financial reck, is that they are lured by the easy access to money while in office to want to come back. They end up wasting all the money they have amassed seeking re-election. Their followers who have become disappointed with them while they were in office will be the ones encouraging them to contest knowing fully well they are going to lose. That is what is at play with Odubu. His followers are pushing him to the edge of the political cliff, encouraging him to waste his money. At the end of the day, they will push him down the cliff to political oblivion and irrelevance.

My advice to Odubu is that he should go home and retire from politics. He has expended his goodwill with the people. The governorship of Edo State is not a harmlet election where you can use GRA GRA to win. It is not Orionmwon and Uhunmwonde alone where you can hire a bus, load it with thugs and overrun the place. No, this is an election in the 18 Local government areas of the state.

You have boasted to people that you have structures all over the state. I make bold to tell you to your face that you are deceiving yourself. You do not have a single structure anywhere outside your ward in Orhionmwion. You were depending on local council chairmen, councilors and house of Assembly members. But those people do not have a hold on the delegates. So where are your structures.

I tell people that the dynamics of politics in Edo State has changed, that people like Odubu and even the Comrade Governor who was the architect or the lighten rod of the change is yet to even understand the change he brought and how it has affected the people.

When the Comrade Governor was fighting for his mandate he opened the eyes of the ordinary people. The whole process educated the people on the power of their vote and what they can do with it. It showed them how to defend their vote. The average Edo voters is now very wise and understands what is at stake in every elections.

This phenomenon of the electorate voting right and voting their consciences has been at play in Edo state in two elections. They voted their conscience in the presidential elections between GEJ and PMD. Edo people voted for the south south agenda against the establishment choice. The second election was between honourables Samson Osagie and Patrick Obayangbon aka Igodomigogodo. The establishment wanted Igodomigogodo but the electorate voted for Samson.Osagie.

So it is also Dr. Odubu the delegates will not vote for you again. You have in your 16 yrs of service used up your goodwill go home and rest don't waste your money.
