On July 14th 2012, the people of Edo State in Nigeria will elect their state governor. There are 7 candidates in the election among the 7 are three front runners. There are the incumbent governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN party,  Major General Charles Airhiavbere (Rtd) of the Peoples Democratic Party and Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri of the All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP. There campaigns have being on going now for some months but as the election draws nearer and television station is organizing a series of interview and will organize debates for the candidates. The last of the interviews held today with the PDP candidate. From the general response from the ACN camp it was obvious that there is a visible panic in their camp. On the set the ANPP candidate brought to the front burner intelligent presentation during his interview section. He talked about building new market and today, the ACN candidate has jumped on that promise and he is presenting it as his own agenda. What a copy cat.
In the interview conducted today the PDP candidate accused the incumbent governor of building roads in his community into bushes and into uninhabited areas. In 1983 there was also a governor in the state, Prof. Ambrose Alli he was accused of constructing roads into the thick jungle of his native Ekpoma. His people then did not see anything wrong in that but on Election Day he was voted out. That is what you will see play it self out I the next election. When you are from a minority tribe in a democracy and you have the opportunity to serve, you make sure the majority tribe are pleased with what you are doing. In the case of Comrade Adams who is from a minority tribe, those roads that are leading to nowhere in Iyamho his village could have served the people of Orhionmwion, Ovia North East and Ovia South West. Then the people of Edo South would listen to him but a it is now, our mumu don do.
