In Benin City the road Network has improved

The present Government of Professor Osereimen Osunbor has done well in the last 11 months by constructing several roads in Benin City and the other senatorial district. he has virtually tared many roads amongst them are St Saviour Street and the dualization of Akpapkava road and upper sokponba road. The roads has reduced the time it takes to move from one end of town to the other. The question my people are asking is what did Lucky Igbinedion do with the state money? if he could not tare one road in the eight years he was in power. Well as you well know, the election of Osareimen Osunbor has been nullified by the electoral tribunal. He has appealed against the judgement at the appeal court. The gist is that he constructed the roads thinking the election tribunal was going to ask them to go for re-election and would have used them as a campaign tool. Now that we are waiting for the tribunal, if Osunbor losses, he will definitely come back again some day to rule Edo State. The gist in town is that if Oshomohle wins at the appeal court and is eventually sworn in, he will not be able to construct as many roads as Osunbor the in 11 months.

The state government gave Adams Oshomhole a three days ultimatum to produce the commissioner. But the state govenment has since appologised to Adams Oshomhole. His burial will be annouced soon and may his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen

Nigeria Gas Company frustrates pipeline project

On the 15th of April 2008, The Enegie of Oheze, Eso, Ugo and Oben communities went to warri to meet with the management of Nigeria Gas Company NGC and Zakeem Engineering to discus their differences on the laying of Gas pipeline from Oben in Edo State to Geregu in Kogi State. The NGC staff at the meeting were arrogant and instead of discussing the issues that will bring all the parties together they were busy patronizing the visitors. The Enegie had asked for Schools and hospitals in the various communities. However, the NGC whose lease on the land which they had laid a previous pipeline had expired insisted that they were expecting the Enegie to pay outstanding rent on the farm land to NGC. Their assertion was that since NGC had leased the land from the enegie they, the enegie, had no right to plant/farm on the pipeline right of way. The discussions were heated but another meeting has been scheduled for next week.

Fuel Scarcity hits Benin City

There has been acute fuel shortage in Benin City for the past two weeks. the ques are getting longer by the day. The only saving grace now is the availability and consistent sales of fuel at the NNPC Mega Station at Sapele road. Although the que might be 100 cars deep, but the joy is that people still buy at the control price of N69.00 per litre while the other stations are selling adulterated fuel at N120.00 per litre. As in all things, there are no explanations from the Government but the people are praying for a reprieve.
