The fear of Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri debating skills is the beginning of wisdom. At today's 21st June 2012, debate on NTA Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and General Airhiavbere were deliberately absent. Upon enquirery, the NTA people said they, Adams and Charles, specifically asked whether Edebiri was present and when the answered in the affirmative the duo did not show up. They are already been self defeating.

On July 14th 2012, the people of Edo State in Nigeria will elect their state governor. There are 7 candidates in the election among the 7 are three front runners. There are the incumbent governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN party,  Major General Charles Airhiavbere (Rtd) of the Peoples Democratic Party and Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri of the All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP. There campaigns have being on going now for some months but as the election draws nearer and television station is organizing a series of interview and will organize debates for the candidates. The last of the interviews held today with the PDP candidate. From the general response from the ACN camp it was obvious that there is a visible panic in their camp. On the set the ANPP candidate brought to the front burner intelligent presentation during his interview section. He talked about building new market and today, the ACN candidate has jumped on that promise and he is presenting it as his own agenda. What a copy cat.
In the interview conducted today the PDP candidate accused the incumbent governor of building roads in his community into bushes and into uninhabited areas. In 1983 there was also a governor in the state, Prof. Ambrose Alli he was accused of constructing roads into the thick jungle of his native Ekpoma. His people then did not see anything wrong in that but on Election Day he was voted out. That is what you will see play it self out I the next election. When you are from a minority tribe in a democracy and you have the opportunity to serve, you make sure the majority tribe are pleased with what you are doing. In the case of Comrade Adams who is from a minority tribe, those roads that are leading to nowhere in Iyamho his village could have served the people of Orhionmwion, Ovia North East and Ovia South West. Then the people of Edo South would listen to him but a it is now, our mumu don do.

@ All we were at a meeting today organized by the Office of the President through his special assistant on Inter Party Affairs. The meeting was attended by all the Governorship candidates in the Edo State Elections. As you can see from the attached program Comrade Adams was the Special Guest of Honour so he was asked to make a brief remark. In his remark the governor noted that his name was not spell right. He said that since his name was not included in the list of candidate he was going to use the opportunity ot both talk as a special guest and a candidate so he spoke for 43 minutes. At a point the chairman had to ask him to stop. Comrade Adams major concern was the issue of one man one vote. He asked President Jonathan to rise up to the challenge and to that he should be the president of Nigeria and not PDP. That Nigeria was bigger than any one political party. He asked why PDP was listed first on the list of candidates. His speech was applauded. All the other candidates were ask to make a 10 minutes presentation. When it was the turn of PDP to make their speech, although General Arhiavbere came into the venue with Dan Orbih, he left before the program started proper. Distinguished Senator Roland S. Ovie was introduced as the one that was going to represent General Airhiavbere. The people protested and Senator Owie was not allowed to speak. The other candidates made their speeches include Chief Solomon I. Edebiri whose presentation received a standing ovation. Anyway after the last candidate spoke, Comrade Adams said he would like to speak as a candidate for the allocated 10 minutes and the crowd said no way. He went to the mic and the roof almost came down. Our EPF David Olukoga was there and it took the personal intervention of Comrade and the Chairman of the occasion to cool tempers down. Comrade was allowed to speak for 4 minutes. I can proudly say that the polity is fully charged. As our people will say in the street, E don catch fire.  Ovbe sakpo ooooo. Aso obo ke vbe owe yegbe.

I was in Kano two fridays ago and I stayed at the Kano Dubar Hotel. I went to Church Street in Sabongari for a bottle of Beer. On that day immediately after the Jumat Service, a young Ibo girl who sells GSM cards was shot dead at her business premises for not covering her head. I also notice that the Churches in Kano were fenced round like prison yards. The only thing that is going to make the bombings of Churches to stop is for the Christians to protect themselves by any means necessary. I mean any means. I do know that this whole thing we end very soon. However, before the Christians start bombing their mosques on fridays, I hope the government will do something urgent. Another trend I have observed in recent times is the increase in Northern youths in the GRA in Benin City. They have literary turned under the powerline in Etete to their abode. I hope our people are also noticing this trend.
As Edo State of Nigeria goes to elections on July 14th 2012, A Radio and Television station in Nigeria called the Africa Independent Television and radio (AIT) is doing a series of interview with the candidates. Yesterday the 16th, of June was the turn of Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri, JP, MON. the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) candidate for the election. Incidentally I am the secretary of the party in Edo State. Unlike  the previous days interview which was with the incumbent governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Chief Edebiri was very civil in his presentations. He was very fluent and did not try to intimidate the anchors of the program. Reactions from the electorate has being very encouraging. The people are saying they are going to vote him in as the next governor of Edo State.
