A disaster is in the making right here in Benin City, Edo State. The world meteorological council had advised Nigeria of the impending flood in the next couple of months. It is in compliance to this advise that the Lagos State government destroyed the shanty towns of Oworonsoki. The people who are squatting at Ikpe River near Idogbo along the Benin-Abraka Road in Ikpoba-Okha are already having a taste of the forecast flooding. Their shanty homes has been overtaking by flood. The State or Local government are not doing anything about their plight. The Comrade Governor should borrow a leaf from Fashola of Lagos State by going there now to evacuate those people immediately as a stitch in time saves nine.
