A CALL ON HON. EHIOZUWA JOHNSON AGBONAYIMA, AKA EJ TO RETRACE HIS WRONG STEPS

Hon Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayima, aka EJ, the member of House of Representative representing the good people of Ikpoba-Okha.
A CALL ON HON. EHIOZUWA JOHNSON AGBONAYIMA, AKA EJ TO RETRACE HIS WRONG STEPS
Our attention has been drawn to the wrong action taken by Hon. Ehizuwa Johnson Agbonayima in the appointment of Pharez Okpere as his Personal Assistant and three other non Benins as his personal staff in the House of Representative. I hear there is an Igbo, a Yoruba and an Urhobo. These were Hon. EJ’s first appointments preferring outsider over his poverty riding people of Ikpoba Okha. Pharez Okpere is from Uromi in Edo Central. He politic and vote in his community Uromi and should therefore be appointed by his representative.
Hon EJ did wrong and committed an unforgivable political sin against the people of Ikpoba- Okha by appointing Pharez Okpere and the three non Benins in his employ to the position that is meant for the youths of Ikpoba-Okha.
The Representative of Edo Central WILL NEVER appoint anyone from Edo South to such a position. Hon Segius Osesojie will never appoint an Ikpona- Okha youth to such a position when his people are yet to be employed? No. It is foolishness on the part of Hon EJ and that is how our Representatives over the years have indirectly under developed our people. This is going to turn out to be the mistake that will undo EJ political career.
On the day of EJ’s election, a youth in ward 9 was shot dead by political thugs. At St Maria Gorreti Secondary School, his supporters engaged the APC agents in a fist fight that resulted in the hospitalization of many. Now he has won and the best way to compensate these people is to use the position zoned to them to do sadaka. EJ retrace your steps now and appoint a true Ikpoba-Okha youth.
I understand that the attention of EJ’s wife, Mrs. Itohan Agbonayima, was drawn to this grievous mistake at the onset, but that she explained it away by saying we are all Nigerians. However, when asked to name anyone from Edo South that has been so appointed by Reps of Edo Central she became short of words.
To some this may look insignificant but to the unemployed youths of Ikpoba-Okha this is big and the people of Edo South this is major set back.
If you go to business establishment like the banks and other companies in Benin City you hardly see an Edo South youth being employed. If you go to the commercial nerve centres in the city we are pushed out. Now even in the positions that is traditionally meant for our people, with constituencies tribally zoned to Edo South is being gleefully and stupidly fanned out by our Representative to others. This is way out wrong and must be corrected. Which way Edo South people?
